#travelwithme to Aachen

Aachen is a spa and border city in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. Aachen was the preferred residence of Charlemagne, and, from 936 to 1531, the place where 31 Holy Roman Emperors were crowned Kings of the Germans. If you decide to visit Aachen - than you have to start your route at the Ponttor - is one of the two remaining gates of the original city wall of Aachen. The westernmost of the north-facing gates - the Ponttor was built in the 14th century.
